1997 Quinta do Noval Silval

Mid red and showing some evolution. Slightly tanky on the nose. Restrained entry, lots of sweetness but the tannins dominate the fruit; not well balanced at the moment. Shows promise but needs more time. 86/100. Tasted at the BFT on 24 April 2013.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: DR Very Old White, Graham Stone Terraces 2011, Quevedo Branco 1986 b.2026
