1968 Andresen Colheita

Post by jdaw1 » 12:52 Sat 21 Dec 2013

On Thursday 19th December 2013 a subset of the obvious suspects gathered at The Bell in Wendens Ambo to taste old, peculiar and unknown bottles.

Bottled 2011. Subdued nose, showing a little dried apricot. Lightweight mouthfeel, light flavour profile. A dry finish with a subdued aftertaste and modest finish. 85/100.
Top Ports in 2018 (so far): Niepoort VV (1960's Bottling), Quinta do Noval Nacional 1994 and San Leonardo Very Old White (Bottled 2018)
2017 Ports of the year: Fonseca 1927 and Quinta do Noval 1927

Slightly nondescript nose. Harsh alcohol and a slightly industrial feel to this. Best feature is a finish full of black olives that shows with pleasing dryness. 87

My notes said “Lovely soft smooth full-bodied colheita”. No, not very specific.
