1970 Graham
Brick red and 20% opaque. Expressive on the nose with mint - maybe eucalyptus - mixed with honey and syrup. On the palate, this arrives with perfect poise and brings a complex mix of clover honey and rose hip jelly all backed by a beautiful, ripe acidity. The finish is tremendous, long and fruity with a soft caramel core that carries on quietly for a good minute or two. 95/100. Drunk at the BBR Port Walk on 28 November 2013.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
