Darkest wine of the night. A deep pure purple that blocks any attempt for light to shine through.
Loads of dark fruit, cinnamon spice and nutmeg? on the nose.
Chewy wine that picks up even more body as the night goes on. A dark chocolate tastes that ends in a balanced acidic/fruity coffee finish that goes on.
I feel this wine has alot of potential ahead of it.
92/100.
1994 Quinta do Vesuvio
TN: V94
Vesuvio 1994, 30 hours since double-decanted. Dark and opaque, with much purple. Nosing of stewed fruit, and lots of it; RSH finding “tartness†. In the mouth massive youthful fruit, still very tannic, less finesse than the ’95. Later prunes. Needs decades. Might become simpler with the passage of time; might be hugely great.
