Firm red, 90% opaque. Lovely nose of stewed red fruit. Fruit forward entry, with a nice balance. Acid shows strongly on the mid-palate with the tannins barely visible. Balanced palate but I would anticipate the fruit will fade and the acidity will dominate. The fruit and the acidity meld together nicely on the aftertaste with the finish being pleasant and lingering. 88/100. Drunk 23-Apr-14.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
