2011 Sandeman

Deep and intense in colour, opaque and dark and with a very narrow rim. Sweet bramble fruit and some mint on this pronounced nose. Sweet fruit but massive tannins swamp the mouth, with the tannins growing to punishing levels. Hugely tannic finish, but with plenty of fruit. Definitely one to tuck away in the cellar for a couple of decades! 92-94/100. Drunk 24-Apr-14 at BFT5.
Top Port in 2017 (so far): Graham Stone Terraces 2015 and Quinta do Vesuvio 1994
2016 Port of the year: Cockburn 1908
