2012 Quinta do Noval

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

1,000 cases produced. Deep purple in colour, starting to lose some of the initial youthful blue tones. Soft blueberries and violets on the nose, lovely and fresh, cut with crushed green leaves. A wonderful satin texture with a smooth entry and masses of ripe blueberry fruit offset by a gentle acidity. Powerful tannins support a fabulous fruit presence but the fruit dominates. A huge aftertaste of blackcurrants and grapefruit with the grapefruit leading to an enormous finish. This is a great VP in its early youth. 94-96/100. 06-May-15.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
