It is all my fault. Today I wore my England rose rugby cufflinks — self-evidently a schoolboy error.

I have soothed Phil by pouring him some Croft 1970 and inviting him onto my balcony. I think it worked.

In the cold light of the morning after I think England's demise is bad for this tournament. Hopefully the media will stop whinging at the English management and players and turn their attention to the fantastic rugby that will be played out in the next few weeks. I also hope that the natives who own tickets will still turn up and add to the atmosphere.

Agree with Derek, shame for the fans although the Rugby purists will be able to enjoy rest of the tournament without the hype but more to the point, what's the Daily Telegraph going to do now in order to sell copy!
Re: Shhhhh.,..,
Am alternate history? Have a few pages about the tournament, as if England stuffed Australia. Obviously non-England non-Oz games could entertainingly resemble what actually happens.idj123 wrote:Agree with Derek, shame for the fans although the Rugby purists will be able to enjoy rest of the tournament without the hype but more to the point, what's the Daily Telegraph going to do now in order to sell copy!

The Daily Telegraph can now ignore the rest of the RWC and instead focus on the England-Pakistan series that starts with the first test next Tuesday.
