Mature red apeparance, 60% oapque. A fabulous nose of mature port, spicy and full of juniper. Smooth in texture, fragrant and flavoursome; full of red jelly and intense in concentration. Some heat on the aftertaste, then a spicy burst of gentle chilli leading to a long finish of redcurrant and bitter black licorice. Balanced and elegant, this is a fine and mature port. Served blind this was guessed to be Taylor 1966. 91/100. 15-Feb-16. Decanted 12½ hours.
OBV70 Big berry fruits on the nose and the taste that have matured beautifully to make a wonderfully balanced port from a great year. Very clear with some tawning of colour and thinning of the rim. Very nice. Served blind, guessed to be Croft 66.
