Post by jdaw1 » 10:30 Wed 06 Apr 2016

Within the regulation week of DRT’s 51st birthday, we (DRT, JDAW, IDJ, AHB, THRA, SCD, CPR, ARM, and TC) brought “a bottle of VP, blind or sighted” to the Boot and Flogger.

Pale rosewood in colour with an orange rim, 20% opaque. Pungent nose with lots of molasses and grapefruit. Sweet on entry with perfumed honey and a lovely elegance. Nicely balanced with a powerful acidity lying under the honey. Not overly complex but very pleasant. Honey aftertaste with a long and delicate finish. A lovely port. 87/100.
Top Ports in 2018 (so far): Niepoort VV (1960's Bottling), Quinta do Noval Nacional 1994 and San Leonardo Very Old White (Bottled 2018)
2017 Ports of the year: Fonseca 1927 and Quinta do Noval 1927
