2013 O Port Unidade

Deep purple in colour with an opaque centre. A gentle yet expressive nose with blackberry and bramble fruit offset by some sharper blackcurrant. A lovely texture on entry with restrained fruit and substantial tannins that blend together well. Patient rather than exuberant, the addition of air serves only to emphasise the tannins. The tannins go on to dominate the early aftertaste before some blueberry fruit appears and joins in the long and chewy finish. A pleasant port with a great back-story. 88-90/100 22-Apr-16
