1972 Quinta de la Rosa

Post by djewesbury »

This was not issued as QdlR, but is the port that was made from its grapes; the cork reads Sandeman.

Light orange in colour, pale and translucent. Looks older than its years (as many of us from '72 do).
Nose: cedar and cinnamon.
In the mouth, initial heat, dryness, some dried fruit and a very pleasant finish. All in all a good drinking port - not spectacular but certainly very drinkable.

What an interesting and unusual port to have tried. Interesting to read your thoughts.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
