To me this looks genuine and most likely a colheita port of the vintage 1927. Perhaps bottled a couple of decades later and could then very well be imported after the prohibition.

From the same source, also acquired a stock of Ferreira 45, Tuke Holdsworth 47, Mackenzie 48, Boa Vista 50 and Delaforce 58. Given they're all quite rare I might arrange a tasting in early 2019 if there's sufficient interest... Venue would probably be 67 Pall Mall. That sounds like a wonderful tast...

I don't know. There are several references to Seara d'Ordens vintage 2016 but the only bottle I have seen was Talentvs 2016 so I don't know if it is the same.

I have a few Dow 72 as well as Dow 80. 1972 is not a very good year though, suffering from the alcohol scandal of using synthetic industrial spirit for the fortification (1972-1974). I have information that Cruz vintage 1992 has been made. However, all pictures and auction results from the past I can find shows Cruz Colheita "vintage", that is obviously a harvest and not a vintage. Does anyone on this forum know if Gran Cruz vintage 1992 exists?

Stacks make FIFO (First In First Out) difficult though. I tend to want to use the older bottles at the bottom first and it is a lot of work to take out the bottom bottle from a stack, and thus I prefer to have the cases on shelves. It is for sure five different labels, but it might be the same juice in all bottles. As always it is difficult to know when different labels are used by the same Port producer.

In 1989 a company named Companhia Uniao dos Vinhos do Porto e Madeira Lda, owned by Grand Cruz, made five different vintages: Aguila, Cabraco, Calvares, Dom Joaquim and Magales. As far as I know these brands has never been used again since then. Does anybody know why?

I believe 1970 is a much better year than 1994. In 1970 almost all producers has made good port while in 1994 there are several that are not performing.

We are flying in from Sweden on the morning of the tasting. We think it might be better to decant in the morning before the flight rather than mixing the sediment during the flight. We will bring the original bottle in any case. Does any of you have experience on what would be the best option?
