2004 Graham Malvedos

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Strawberry red in colour with mature red fruit on the nose and a distinct touch of hot Douro summer dust. Great mature fruit on the palate, deep and complex with sweet strawberry jam and a good grip to support. Fragrant aftertaste and a gently tannic finish that delivers a nice chewiness. This is tasty port combining the depth, power and sweetness of youthful port with some of the meatiness of mature port - but this would still reward more time in the cellar. 90/100. Drunk 07-Nov-16.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
