A deep red / purple colour. Rather a surprise, the nose smelt slightly stewed, fruity but vaguely unattractive. The entry, however, was light and clean with plenty of fruit but also with the odd stewed tone lurking under the fruit. The finish was clean and pleasant with none of the odd tones. Rather a peculiar port. 86/100. Drunk 04-Apr-17.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
