1961 Kopke Colheita (bottled 2017)

Bottled 2017. Pale brown, 10% opaque. A huge nose of roasted nuts is followed by a wine with a lovely texture. Honeyed entry bringing walnuts and golden syrup is offset by a strong acidity which shows on the aftertaste, before an intense and sticky honey finish lingers around for a good while. A lovely port. 92/100. Drunk 04-Apr-17.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
