T85, brought by JDAW. Red, with a hint of purple, 80% opaque. Palate big and too young. Red fruit, and lots of sweetness. Perhaps even too sweet?

Rosy red colour, wide rim and an opaque centre. Slightly harsh ripe red pears on the nose. This is mid-mature port on the palate with lots of delicious sweet fruit and a great balance. Lovely fruit and a gentle toffee aftertaste followed by a long and persistent finish. This is a wonderful port. Served blind this was guessed to be Fonseca 1977. 94/100. 10-May-17. Decanted 5 hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
