50% opacity, dark red, slightly cloudy. In the mouth, rich, lively, plummy chocolate. Tannins in the finish.

Mid rose red colour, 70% opaque. Gentle fruit on the nose, living and rising from the glass – very fruity and attractive. Smooth and sweet entry with soft flavours that wrap around the tongue yet with a dry and gentle tannin core. A delicious texture perfectly combining sweet and ripe fruit with a balanced acidity and soft tannins - and then the fruit morphs into something new!A big aftertaste, sweet and round before a delicious bitterness on the juniper finish. This is a fabulous port, soft and elegant yet so big and with a finish of over 3 minutes! 96/100. Decanted 5 hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

GC94: Very spicy, with plum sweetness. Only mid weight; nonetheless lovely Port.
