NV Graham Crusted 1985

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

On the brown side of brick red, 50% opaque. Cedar and tobacco on a red jelly nose, lots of dust and ash. The ash and dust overlays some sweet redcurrant cordial before a strong cracked pepper drives through the sweet fruit. The layers of fruit are generous on this medium-bodied port. Lots of heat on the aftertaste before a finish of woody and dry licorice root with a touch of VA. 87/100. Drunk 04-May-17. Decanted 1 day.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
