2011 Andresen LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Tasted at the Sunday Times Wine show.

Bottled unfiltered in July 2015. Deep red and opaque. Showing little on the nose, but served fairly cold. A lovely texture, quite thick, matched by silky fruit and a quality tannin load that is ripe and toasty giving good balance and structure. Delicious sweet cherry and black licorice finish with a great length. This is a very fine uinfiltered LBV, offered by the Sunday Wine Club / Laithwaites for £15.50 per bottle. 89/100. Drunk 19-May-17.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
