NV Morgadio da Calcada Ruby Reserve

Soft red colour, opaque. Lovely sweet strawberries and icing sugar on the nose. Elegant and mid-weight entry with plenty of fruit and tannins delivering a great chewy palate. Good aftertaste and finish. This is a great ruby. 89/100. 24-May-17.

Morgadio de Calcada produced vintage port (vinified by Dirk Niepoort) in 2007 and 2011 and, at the time of writing this note, were undecided whether or not to release 2015.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
