2015 Quinta do Vesuvio

Deep purple colour. Herbaceous nose bringing lots of purple fruit. Punchy on the palate with generous purple / violet fruit. Lots of gentle tannins float around the palate but these are dwarfed by the elegant violet flowers. Sweet chewy fruit flavours dominate the aftertaste and lead to a great finish that is slightly short compared to the Senhora da Ribeira. Very tasty. 90-92/100. 24-May-17.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
