2015 Dow Senhora da Ribeira

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

A delicate, fragrant port with a high acidity core and gentle tannins. The fruit is refined and elegant with lovely flower perfumes infusing the palate. Surprisingly for Dow, the finish is a little sweet and sticky. This clearly has the acidity to last and evolve but feels like a port which will be gentle and elegant into its middle-age. 89-91. An extended tasting over 4 days.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
