1997 Sandeman
Tasted at the Confraria dinner. A second bottle tasted after the first spoiled bottle. Similar appearance to the previous bottle but this one is fresh on the nose with plenty of fruit. The fresh fruit comes through on the palate, supported by chalky tannins and a nice focusing acidity. Spicy and hot on the aftertaste with a good chocolate and sour cherry finish. Will be better in 10 years. 87/100. 22-Jun-17. Decanted 12 hours.
