NV Confraria do Vinho do Porto Tawny 20YO (bottled 2014)
Tasted at the Confraria ceremony. Bottled 2014. Served chilled. Wide rim on a soft brown colour. Soft brown sugar on the nose with a sharp star fruit tone. Brown sugar entry, some acidity gives good clarity. More burnt sugar and caramel on the later palate with some tropical fruit. Some heat on the aftertaste is followed by a long finish of brown sugar and rubber bands. 82/100. 22-Jun-17.
Top Ports in 2022: Quinta do Noval Nacional 1931. I have never drunk such a wonderful bottle of Port. I cried with joy.
2023: Fonseca 1966. There are not many better Ports, except a good bottle of Fonseca 1927. Wow!
