1983 Ramos Pinto (Barroca)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

This bottle was the single varietal Barroca component, vinified and bottled separately.

Quite brown in colour and with an unusual nose, rather meaty and yeasty. Lovely texture on the palate with delicious meaty fruit flavours and ghosts of tannins. A great combination of mature fruit and acidity yet with a yeasty / meaty baked tone. A great baked fruit finish and a tremendous length. Not Rated. 23-Jun-17. Decanted 5½ hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
