Purchased from a café on the cais in Vila Nova de Gaia and drunk while watching the crews board the boats for the Barco Rabello race.

Deep purple colour; pleasant nose. Generous levels of tannins and plenty of fruit made this the perfect accompaniment for a veal chop in garlic butter. 85/100. 24-Jun-17. Pop 'n' pour.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

2026: Quinta das Carvalhas 80YO Tawny
