Re: 1963 Calem
Cá63, decanted 07:00. Palate slightly dry, and drying out. Showing well, but drink up. Still long, some sweetness, but drying.

Re: 1963 Calem
Tasted alongside the Calem Foz 1963 and looking slightly more mature than the single quinta wine with a touch more brick tone; 40% opaque. Almost nothing on the nose but the texture on the palate is lovely, round and very lively. Good cleansing acidity with concentrated and reduced fruit juices give a full flavour and big mouthful. There is an interesting burnt berry edge to the palate that was also noted in the 1935 Calem. Sweet red licorice dominates the aftertaste, which leads to a big and flavoursome finish of sweet berry cordial. Great palate and aftertaste but totally lacking anything on the nose. 85/100.
