Light rose red in colour, 30% opaque. Virtually nothing on the nose, very light even with a swirl but there is a gentle sweet fruitness that creeps up slowly. A lovely flash of orange on entry, then a delicious build-up of flavours and a dry core. A lovely orange mid-palate and aftertaste. Fresh, with less sweetness than most others from this vintage. Fresh orange zest dominates the finish. This is a nicely balanced port, very fresh tasting. 90/100. 19-Dec-17. Decanted 6½ hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

75% opacity, dusty red, cloudy. Nose a little sulphurous at first. Very gentle heat on entry, sweetness with dusty/dried red fruits, cranberries. Slight dryness towards the finish.

S77: sour and past prime. Likely a faulty bottle.
