2011 Cockburn LBV
From the printing on the bottle, this appears to have been bottled in 2016. Dark red in colour and opaque in intensity, this provided a fruity nose of red cherries. It showed the benefit of the extra year of bottle aging on the palate, being round and smooth with poised tannins. The aftertaste was like pure Ribena, sweet yet full of blackcurrant flavour and acidity. The finish was persistent. This was a very drinkable LBV and shows the benefits of a little extra bottle age on some LBVs. 86/100. Drunk 29-Dec-17. Pop 'n' pour.
