1997 Niepoort Colheita (bottled 2017)

Bottled 2017. Light orange colour, 30% opaque. Some over-ripe orange on the nose; sweet in the mouth with muscvado sugar and dates dominating. The aftertaste is gentle and leads to a finish of burnt sugar and caramelised fruit. Pleasant, but will probably be more powerful in later years. 89/100. 06-Nov-17.
Top 2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
