Mrs W. has become unlikely. We have a space; and as there has been no word of a guest, perhaps two.

I am afraid I have no 1960 port but as I am not at the 8s tasting a few weeks after, I was going to bring a GM68 if that is acceptable.

Regrettably I am no longer able to make this. I do hope my citizenship will not be questioned for such a treasonous act!

Is there a 1960 theme? I recently acquired a batch of 1911 "something" VP.... which, I believe, is another significant Royal event (Coronation). It seems fitting to open a bottle on this occasion. Given the bottle condition is not perfect, I will also bring a reserve (probably a 1960...! ).

There is not a 1960 theme: some have copied those who spoke first.

A 1911 (Martinez? Sandeman? Rebello Valente? A Taylor single quinta?) would be most welcome: thank you.

A second bottle is never wrong: Thank you. It can be ’60, or something else. Indeed, there were no major Royal events in 1878, but an 1878 would still be welcome — that’s how unfussy we are.

There will be four toasts, at 6½pm sharp.

➊ The Queen.
➋ The Happy Couple.
➌ The Port Forum.
➍ Vintage Port.

The monarchy being the most ancient institution, the first of these will be done with the oldest Port at table. But with which should the others be done?

From Dan: "That’s easy – salmon, followed by Rib eye”, the next question being answered with “Medium rare for rib eye”.

Your Ck77 has become a German Christmas fruit bread?! This is the greatest tragedy since Alexʼs F66 was bolognesed.

Not being fond of sweet pastry, an F70 would be much preferred.

I note that Berry Brothers are running a pop up bar in Flat Iron Square on Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th May, 17.00-23.30.

I plan to call in on my way to the B&F to see what they might have. Anyone care to join me?
