NV Croft 430th Anniversary

A lovely rich ruby red. Nosing of attractive bramble fruit with a bit of green leaf giving a twist to the sweet fruit. Nicely balanced on the palate with fresh but ripe fruit gently matched against soft tannins. A gentle perfume on the mid-palate emphasises the ripeness of the fruit, but with a freshness that is very pleasing. The aftertaste is a little hot, but the tannins bounce back with a milk chocolate grip on the cheeks before a blackberry and raspberry fruit settles over the chocolate. Good length finish. 88/100. 16-Apr-19.
