TVVV17: Heat and tank still showing. Not quite fair to judge yet — needs to settle in bottle. Mouth-drying tannin, and lots of structure, so will need a lot of cellar time.

C3: Lovely violet top note. Slightly high toned with a dusty note to the dense fruit. Beautifully pure and powerful black fruits on the palate. Perfect balancing acids and tannins completely unobtrusive. Fantastic. (Taylor VV. This was a better showing than a previous tasting, relative to the straight Taylors)

Light red colour, although opaque appearance. Smokey fruit shows on the nose on on the palate the fruit has a wonderful perfume to it. The tannins are nice and rounded and the wine delivers a terrific burst of acidity on the aftertaste. A long chocolate and sour cherry finish, which is heated and warm. 92-94/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
