The time convenient to us that is closest to the two hundredth anniversary of that would be the evening of Thursday 23rd May 2019.
And we did.

ROC70, decanted 16:00. Orange, 15% opaque. Nose nasty. Palate texture good, but taste non-existent.

Light red-orange colour with a golden rim, 20% opaque. Delicious nose at first but develops some very odd elements of bottle stink after sitting in the glass for some time. Sweet on the palate with light rose-hips and gentle rose sweetness. Softly flavoured Golden Syrup on the mid-palate with some nice development of flavours, although the flavours are light, sweet and gently sugary. Sweet, lovely and gentle. 87/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
