Still £20 a bottle (at full price). Next to it is the Malvedos 2004, currently reduced from £27.50 to also be £20 per bottle.
2004 Malvedos is very good. That's a steal at that price.

Sainsbury have their spring sale on - 25% off when you buy 6 bottles or more, including fortified and sparkling wines.

That makes the Taste the Difference Vintage Port £15 per bottle and the Sandeman Unfiltered LBV less that £13.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

If I look online, the T&Cs (or if I try to make a 6 bottle basket) say all fortified wines are excluded. Have you taken advantage of this deal in store?

I think Sainsbury's have changed the T&C to exclude fortified from these offers at least 6 months ago now. Just Waitrose left now that still includes Port in these offers.

Yeah I was in the car today and heard a Sainsbury’s advert for this offer and it said fortified are excluded.

Might be of interest...

Corney & Barrow have just listed three 12-bottle OWC cases of Malvedos 84 @ £790 DP.

Guess this is now fairly rare?

Asda online (I do not know about their branches) have Dow's Crusted Port on sale reduced from £18.00 to £13.50.

They are coy as to the bottling date (the image would suggest 2003 or 2005 - the last number is partially obscured), but it may well be a later bottling.

I have ordered some as future cellar defenders, and will advise the bottling date when they arrive.

One irritant is that they will only supply 6 bottles per order, but since they charged me £2.00 per delivery I just made multiple orders.

M&S have their own brand Vintage Port a third off at £18, reduced to clear. Bought the last one, a 2011 (they've also recently had 2007). Reduced to clear, rather than simply reduced, sounded ominous.

I grabbed the bottle they had at my local Asda, bottling date is 2012. At that price is it worth grabbing more if I see it? I assume so!

Crusted should be better than LBV, even unfiltered LBV. I would think that you can't go wrong at that price. To be sure, try a bottle? Certainly I'm now tempted myself.

Asda delivered 12 bottles today - 4 of which were Dows Crusted 2012 - the others Cockburn 2013 LBV and Taylors Reserve Ruby, despite my having specified no substitutions. 8 bottles were politely rejected.

I hold out very little hope for the 24 bottles due tomorrow :-).

ASDA have advertised Crusted Port for a considerable time but only once have I found it in the stores I've visited.

For many months I have occasionally attempted to order on-line but on each occasion I’ve been stopped in the ordering process - usually after inputting my post code or signing into my account the system reports the product as "unavailable".

ASDA have not acknowledged or replied to my complaint that it should not continue to advertise a product which cannot be ordered or found in their stores.

So, I wish you joy of the four you have managed to purchase at £13.50/bottle. The three bottles, also 2012, which I found by chance after dropping into their Slough store, almost two years ago, were delicious and good value at £18.50

It definitely depends on the store, this thread reminded me to go back and check my local store and I found 6 bottles on at the same price so cleaned them out. Good luck with the hunt!

I found the 2007 M&S VP on sale in Moorgate for £6 a bottle! Obviously bought as much as I can get back to Bristol, might still be some there if anyone is in the area.

@ rich_n & Alex M: thank you. I have acquired twenty bottles of startlingly cheap port today. There is now none of either the M&S 2007 VP or the Warre 2001 QdC left in the Islington, Moorgate or Marble Arch stores. There is still some Warre 2001 QdC left in the Oxford Street (Pantheon) store.

I also bought a bag of salad.

Thank you for the warning. Some of those stores were intended targets. Meanwhile, reports are coming in of empty shelves in Streatham and Brixton, accompanied by the usual business of rioting in the streets and the police being attacked with bags of salad.

Yes, inspected the Camberley store on Sunday. Guildford is also out (which is a bit annoying as when I was in there a couple of weeks ago they had loads of the Warre in a central offer position but when I enquired whether they were on offer I was told 'no'- clearly they were readying them for sell off).

Fortunately, I have managed to relieve the Reading store of its last 4 bottles of the Warre (and I had to ask as the spaces on the shelves were empty). Sent a colleague round to the nearby Woodley store last night to no avail.

Have sent out emissaries (aka work colleagues) to scour the interior and to not return until they are successful!

On a different note Sainsbury’s have the 2003 TTD at £12 and the GM2005 at £16.80-both ‘to clear ‘.

The emissaries are beginning to report back; two bottles of the Warre (perhaps the last of the species in the South) have been located and collected in Poole. I fear they all maybe EW (extinct in the wild) very shortly.

Thought I would register on this forum to thank whoever posted the tip around the M&S deal. I managed to pick up the last 6 bottles of the vintage port on the shelves at the Brixton M&S on my way home Friday. I will keep an eye out for more.

I only started drinking Port last year when I got hold 12 bottles of Grahams Quinta dos Malvedos that had been bought for my birth, that had been hidden away in Northern Ireland for me. Despite having no idea where or how they had been stored (had been given to my aunt's, friend's, granddad's dog etc to store), the bottle I had last Xmas was delicious, and I have been slowly accumulating more bottles since (Mainly LBVs, and the odd cheap vintage port I come across). Not sure where I will store my increasing collection in my small London flat, but good problem to have.

You are welcome Will! Glad it helped you get some decent VP/SQVP for your collection.

Cribbs Causeway in Bristol had stock come back in and I've cleaned them back out again. 7 more bottles and now I think that might be it for me on the M&S 2007 VP front. Sadly no Warre's, but I probably have enough (I know, I know, "define enough") of those to keep me happy.

For those that have not already filled their racks, there has been some limited restocking of the M&S 2007. I was trudging home along Oxford Street this evening, exhausted after a dispiriting meeting in the West End, and thought I would pop into the Pantheon store again just in case. I was not so exhausted, I found, that I could not carry home the seven bottles that greeted me there.

The restocking is both increasingly limited and increasingly idiosyncratic; the rewards are getting thinner but, I hope, so am I; today's reward, for about twelve miles of walking between central London M&S branches, was two bottles of the 2011 vintage @ £6 each (and 5 halves of excellent Lustau-made Dry Oloroso @ £4 each).

I've had some good luck with M&S this week. Popped to Oxfordstreet monday evening, nothing in Marble Arch (although still a space for it, and had some reduced sherry), but picked up 5 bottles of the 2011 at the one near Oxford Circus. Also had luck tonight at Brixton on way home, picking up another 7 bottles (mix of 2011 and 2007). Not had any luck on the Cavadinha. Have now got approximately 20 bottles to enjoy. Currently in the middle of a flat move so they are cramping up my living room. Will crack open a bottle this weekend.

Magnums not on the shelves in Finsbury Square or Pantheon stores. My trawls were not in the least a waste of time, however, since the latter did (note past tense) have six bottles of 2007 vintage and three bottles of 2011 vintage, all of which still scanned at £6...

Another 10 x 2011 (or, to use JDAW's deliciously archaic notation, 1200/- worth; I say archaic because the book suggests 8 year old vintage port could be had this cheap as late as 1983) acquired this lunchtime from Marble Arch; this included four from a stand next to the cheese aisle, which I hadn't thought to check previously.

Warre Quinta da Cavadinha 2004 now 'on offer' at £24.99 in Waitrose. Seems a lot after the £10 bottles of the 2001 we all hoovered up in M&S but in truth it's not a bad price for a SQVP that's starting to drink. Plus, Offley pink for £9.99 for those that like such things...

Well the good news is that, finally, M & S have extended the sale to Dublin stores. Unfortunately Martin Moran MW (writes in Irish Times) tipped off his buddies and they triolleyed out quantities of 2007, 2011 and Q da C. Stilll got 4 2011’s (now have a bottle for the 2051 tasting) and 2 20 year old tawnies, all at €9.00 each.
