35% opacity, mature red. Wonderful floral nose, menthol, mint, tobacco. Rich, full mouthfeel, some dryness mid palate. Dark fruit - molasses.

Ex-cellars bottle from Quinta do Cachão, courtesy of Miguel Perreira at a tasting organised by Tony Carter of Vintage Wine & Port.

Mature but modest red colour, 40% opaque. A veery pronounced nose but with a little VA showing. Dry entry, initially lacking in fruit but with decent development. Not well balanced, with too much tannin and too little fruit, although there is some reasonable fruit on the aftertaste and finish.
84/100. Tasted 23-Oct-19. Decanted 9½ hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
