Mature red colour, brick in tone with an orange rim; 50% opaque. Gentle and fragrant nose, full of sweet esteva and red cherry. A lovely texture, smooth and satin-like. Rich fruit on the palate with spice and complexity developing beautifully giving a wonderful palate with just a touch of dryness. A huge aftertaste showing some heat at first and then an amazing fruit-dominated finish. Lovely Port and my Port of the night, served blind this was guessed to be Dow 1970. 94/100. Tasted 05-Feb-20. Decanted 11 hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
