Orange-pink wine. This is not young. in the mouth, my note says 'Figs! Figs! Figs!'. We can assume a somewhat figgy quality. Lovely stuff actually. I guessed NN '67.

20% opacity, copper, some pinkness. Wonderful nose, leather, candy, oranges, strawberries. Very mature, extracted orange fruit, leather and cedar. Dryness in the finish with some bitterness. I guessed S60. Dryness should have tipped me off to Dow...

Opened at 22.00, decanted at 11.00 the following day and drunk at 20.00. A mature copper red colour, 30% opaque. Wow! The nose opened up wonderfully between decanting and drinking. Dusty aniseed leading on such a wonderful fragrance. A lovely texture, smooth yet with a hint of sweetness. Flavoursome nutty palate with lots of layers of flavour flowing across the palate. A slight bitter orange zest on the aftertaste. This is rich and so delicious with fabulous layers of flavour. 90/100. Tasted 25-Feb-20. Decanted 9 hours.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
