Initial note from pop 'n' pour.
70% dusty burgundy colour. The nose is very spirity but there are burnt figs punching through, although I'm not the biggest fan of this. It's not too refined in the mouth feeling quite rough. We'll be having this in a few hours so I'm hoping this decant will help. An initial dark fruit palate with a lingering high cocoa percentage, dark chocolate which gives bitterness that I'd rather not have (I'm a basic chocolate eater; milk and low percentage dark). This lasts a good while in the mouth with a decent heat to pair.
Shall report back later.

Figs and plums more apparent on the nose now and less spirity. Spices are are revealing themselves and the fruit is now closer to cassis in the mouth. It's nice but its still on the rough side. I think this could do with another 10 years to take the edge off.
