2018 Quevedo

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

I've just realised that I haven't yet posted my impression of the Quevedo 2018 Vintage Port which was included as part of the Taste at Home with Oscar tasting on 30th July 2020.

Deep purple colour with a tiny rim. Lovely blueberry fruit on the nose, gentle and enveloping. Smooth - so smooth - in texture with soft pruple fruit that slowly parts to show the ripe and fine-grained tannins. The wine has a lovely level of acidity and the fruit is typical of the 2018 vintage: clean and pure. Nicely balanced palate with a lovely long finish. This is an elegant and classy Port. 90-92/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
