2008 Dow Bomfim

30 min decant. 95% opaque red juice. Still glass-staining.

Restrained blackberry-dominated nose. More bramble on the front palate, then summer pudding (made in this case with Hovis brown). No heat here. Long finish, sweet for a Dow, some spice and drying tannins very late.

Quite impressive. Not one for the ages, but really rather good port. I look forward to watching it develop over a few days.

+48 hours: Alas, I think I've kept this too long. It's very pleasant port, with a nice Touriga Nacional note, but it is neither exciting nor distinctive.
