1977 Fonseca

Bottled purchased in 2019 from Cheffins along with a Fonseca 1985. In neck fill and no signs of seepage. Drunk in company with venison loin.

D+0. Lots of alcohol. Dark dark red. Not a lot of fruit coming through.

D+7. Much more integrated. Cinnamon, vanilla and aniseed on the nose. Blackberries. Very smooth. A long finish.

I've only got one more bottle of this and I would rate it very similar to the T77 had last month. I'm unsure how it will improve but it's definitely not going to go down hill any time soon.

But how did it go with the venison loin?

What a lovely and interesting looking decanter. Do you know what make/style it is?

It's a Ships Decanter. A pair gifted to my parents when they married. Unsure of make, will look when next home.
