2013 Bulas LBV

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Available by the glass or the bottle from the Sea Kitchen restaurant in West Looe @ £4 for a 50ml measure (sourced through LWC Wines). Bottled 2017; open 3 days: warm dark red colour, very narrow rim. Blackcurrants and bramble on the nose. Ripe and sweet fruit on the palate, good acidity keeps the palate fresh but never overwhelms the sweetness of the fruit. Lovely chocolate tones on the aftertaste and palate. Lingering bramble finish. A lovely Port to drink today but capable of ageing at least another decade. 87/100. Drunk 25-Jun-21, open 3 days.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
