1963 Feuerheerd

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

The second of a parcel of four bottles purchased at auction in 2020, this one also very pale colour. Bottled in the UK by an unknown bottler. Identified from the branded capsule and branded cork. A decanter priming sample revealed this to be the colour of barley sugar, oxidised nose but a drinkable palate and a pleasant aftertaste and finish. Very tertiary in nature, a light and elegant tawny Port. 80/100. Opened 24-Feb-21. Decanted ½ hour.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
