If a space becomes available, and a bottle to adopt, I might be interested. I’m enquiring of my mother, who would need to babysit, just in case….
Julian’s space is still available. There are sufficient bottles so no adoption required, just a share of the bottle costs. Let me know ASAP.
If still available, I’m in. I’ve sent you a PM.

I am very ill. Definitely unable to attend.
Placemats updated to add Ben, and to re-credit the ’55. Please check.

I’m sorry to hear you are still suffering. I promise to do my very best to fill your not inconsiderable (metaphorically speaking) shoes tomorrow night. I’ll gladly take any guidance on things I should or should not do so as to be a credit to your reputation!

Some of you may be aware that I was in Portugal last week. It was my practice during the visit to take a lateral flow test every day to minimise the risk I unknowingly had COVID and was contagious.
I have done the same today. My test is negative.
I am very much looking forward to seeing you all (and Mike for his book) later today!
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
W46 (in neck) Decanted 13;45- deep colour. OK -interesting if it holds.
W45 (VTS) - cork fell in on breaking seal. Decanted 13:55 - oh dear - gutted! Don't have time to run back to work to pick up another one.
(i) It was lovely to see everyone including some faces new to me
(ii) The run of 55, 58, 60, 63, 66, 70 was the strongest run of six consecutive vintages of mature port from one house I think I have ever tasted. I would be proud to serve a bottle (in equivalent condition) of any one of them at the end of the grandest dinner party.
(iii) The 22, 58 and 63 were each the best ports (well, those most to my taste) I have ever tasted from those vintages.

George, Charles, Ian - would you be able to share your decanting times with us please? I always try to keep a record of decanting times with my notes.
Gentle nudge for Ian.
Thank you to George and Charles.
