1966 Adam

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Adams 1966, decanted 5 hours. Brick red, mature; 40% opaque. Little showing on the nose, a bit of strawberry swamped by the alcohol. Lovely primary red fruit. Nearly fully resolved tannins just hinting at remaining in the palate. Lots of acidity provides the structure, but keeps the wine delicate and poised. Sweet red fruit gums linger in the finish. Elegant and very lovely. 88/100. Drunk 27-Sep-21.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
