1966 Berry Brothers

1966 Berry Brothers (Warre)
Very spicy nose. Richly red fruited on the palate. More spice on the finish. Excellent.

Got a point from me. Group's joint 2= WOTN.

Consumed 2/2/22

Warre. A deep , mature brick-red colour; 30% opaque. Slightly odd nose, showing some fruit but with a strange and slightly dirty tone not usually found on 1966 Port. A little dirt shows on the fruit on the palate, fruit which is otherwise mature and sweet. A little hot on the late palate and aftertaste. The aftertaste and finish are pleasant enough, lingering bitter aniseed and grapefruit zest. 89/100. 02-Feb-22. Decanted 5½ hours.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

35% opacity, mature brown-red. Nose has cranberries. Wonderful in the mouth, balanced, rich, dusty cranberries and great length.
