NV Calem Tawny 20YO (bottled 2021)

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

NV Calem 20YO tawny, bottled 2021. Polished chestnut brown green in colour, 50% opaque. Lovely polished nose, full of roasted chestnuts and maple syrup. Fabulous entry, big and intense dominated by the older wines in the blend. Nuts and dates merged with balsamic and molasses give layer after layer of flavour. A huge aftertaste and big, long finish. A really impressive blend as good as many 40 year old tawnies. 92/100. Tasted 31-Mar-22.
Top Ports in 2022: Quinta do Noval Nacional 1931. I have never drunk such a wonderful bottle of Port. I cried with joy.

2023: Fonseca 1966. There are not many better Ports, except a good bottle of Fonseca 1927. Wow!
