1935 Cockburn

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Ck35, unknown UK bottler, decanted 30 minutes. Deep chestnut red, 40% opaque. Delicious nose of sweet red cherry, spiced with cloves. Very attractive. Balanced and mature palate, sweet and fragrant with clove and nutmeg. A little spirity from the lack of time in the decanter, but still very nicely balanced. Such a delicious aftertaste, rich with dried fruit, cloves, nutmeg and red liquorice. Great length. Such a lovely, mature Port. Sweet, delicious and haunting. 91/100. Tasted 13-Jan-22. Decanted ½ hour.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!
